Key Stage 2 Jobs

Pupil in Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6) are invited to apply for jobs around school that will offer responsibility.

The jobs on offer are:

  • Junior Office Assistant
  • Library Monitor
  • Nursery Assistant
  • Playground Leader

As a way of developing children's life skills linked to future employment and longer term aspirations we advertise and appoint children to these specifically designed 'jobs'. If children are interested in these jobs they will be asked to formally apply for a position by completing an application form, taking into consideration the job description and associated responsibilities. They will then take part in an interview. Successful candidates are then notified.

As with any normal employment, children will be able to resign or, in turn be released from their duties after serving an appropriate notice period. Whilst this is as close to a real life process as possible, at all times we will be sensitive to individual children's needs. Guidance, support, encouragement as well as work experience will be offered for all the above roles.

We ask children to commit to their jobs for one term in the first instance, with the option to continue with their role should they wish.

Job Descriptions:

Junior Office Assistant
