Pupil Premium

 

The Pupil Premium Grant (P.P.G.) provides funding for two policies:

  • Raising the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities to reach their potential
  • Supporting children and young people with parents in the regular armed forces 

 

Rates for eligible pupils:

The P.P.G. per pupil for 2020-2021 is as follows:

Disadvantaged pupils - pupils in year groups Reception to Year 6 recorded as Ever 6 FSM - £1345 per pupil

Looked After Children (L.A.C.) - defined in the Children Act 1989 as one who is in the care of, or provided with accommodation by, an English local authority - £2345 per pupil.

Children who have ceased to be looked after by a local authority in England and Wales because of adoption, a special guardianship order, a child arrangement order or a residence order - £2345 per pupil.

Service Children - pupils in Reception to Year 11 recorded as Ever 6 Service Child or in receipt of a pension from the Ministry of Defence - £310 per pupil

Pupil Premium Grant Summary 2019-2020

Due to the changes to educational provision caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, during the academic year 2019-2020, the detail in the Pupil Premium Strategy for last academic year was adapted to meet our pupils' needs. During the pandemic the following key steps were taken to ensure that 'disadvantaged' pupils' barriers to learning continued to be overcome wherever possible:

Step 1: Individual support for education at home and access to our keyworker group at Newburgh.

Step 2: Loan of laptops and tables to ensure learning can be accessed at home.

Step 3: Provision of free school meals through the Edenred project

Step 4: Purchase of new PSHE/Covid-19 return to school adapted curriculum to ensure that we can support all children but in particular those who may be classified as vulnerable or who are in receipt of pupil premium grant.
